Another Annual Pancakel Pancake Breakfast to support Palmetto House Homeless Shelter has come to an end with a lower count of participants eating, but a great turnout of our annual workers.
Thank you to all who helped again this year and for the couple of new comers. As always the breakfast would not be as successful without the group of St John's Catholic Church helpers who came.
It was also a pleasure to see some old friends too. (Colin Martin, Past PH Chairman and Ms Dorris Russell Past PH Director). Thank You to all who came to work, eat or just stopped by to continue to show your support to help the mission.
Collected today at the event was over $1000.
Third Annual Palmetto House Proam
The Palmetto House will be hosting their 3rd Annual Tennis Pro-Am with the addition of a golf tournament this year. The event will take place on Saturday, June 13th. There will be a dinner, silent auction and party at the pool following the days activities.

The 8th Annual Pancake Breakfast will be held June 14th, 2008 at Applebees on North Main Street in Summerville. For only $5.00 you can have a great time, have a great meal and help a worthy cause. Please mark this on your calendar.
Palmetto House Pro Am Tennis and Golf Tournament
The Third Annual Palmetto House Pro Am Tennis and Golf Tournament will be held on June 13th, 2009. This fun event lasts all day and includes Proam tennis, a golf tournament, breakfast, lunch, a dinner/dance and an auction. More details coming soon.

Tickets can be purchased from any board member, The Palmetto House, or the Trident United Way Office on Main Street or purchase at the door the night of the event.
"It's Spooky to Be Hungry Food Drive"
This is a grass roots, all volunteer neighbor to neigbor food drive which takes place throughout October, primarely on or around the 4th weekend in October. This is a National Program that several neighborhoods in Summerville have been participating in then donating all the canned goods and non-perishable items to Palmetto House. Gahagan, Gahagan East & Legend Oaks were heavily involved in 2008. The date of the 2009 event will be announced soon and is generally between 5:00-7:00. Help Fight Hunger and Feed the Needy.
National Homeless Week.
Generally the first full week in November is the start of National Homeless Week. Dates are coming soon. Traditoinally, we end National Homeless Week with the "Help the Hungry Benefit Run" which starts at Nightmare Custom Cycles at 2912 W. 5th North Street Summerville SC 29483 For more info to ride contact Nightmare at 832-2897. All money earned from each rider will be donated to the Palmetto House.
